PC-PBT - Strength at High and Low Temperatures

PC-PBT is used in higher temperature environments for a variety of automotive and industrial applications. It also maintains its impact strength at low temperatures.

Advantages:

  • High strength

  • Maintains impact strength at extremely low temperatures

  • 90C (194*F) heat deflection temperature

Disadvantages:

  • Cost

  • Limited color selection

  • Absorbs moisture from atmosphere, must be stored dry

When to use PC-PBT:

  • Hot and cold environments

  • Chemical resistance

  • Freezers

  • Thermoforming tooling

Our choice: IC3D PC-PBT

IC3D PC-PBT filament is a high-performance material that combines the benefits of polycarbonate (PC) and polyethylene terephthalate (PBT), resulting in a strong, durable filament suitable for various applications. It offers excellent toughness and heat resistance making it ideal for functional prototypes, automotive parts, and other demanding environments. The filament is easy to print with good layer adhesion and less warping compared to traditional PC.
